Areas I specialise in and create bespoke practices / courses:

    Yoga for beginners

Are you new to yoga and not sure where to start? Maybe the thought of a busy studio class feels a bit intimidating or you just love to know exactly what you’re getting into. Then beginner courses are the perfect solution. Whether one to one or in small groups, it will set you up with the basics and send you off with confidence.

    Improver

So you have some experience, but really want more in depth knowledge. Then an improver course will work wonders. We will take the basics and build on them to give you a confident and well-rounded yoga practice to take home or into the studio.

    Support active life

Do you lead an active life; into running, swimming, gym etc then active life courses and workshops are just for you. Each focuses on how to build a complementary yoga practice, how to use it to support your activity, to avoid injuries, build functional movement, balance and much more.
    The perfect partner.

    Injury recovery

Yoga can be a wonderful practice to support injury recovery. It is supportive and challenging, strong yet soft.
We can build a practice around rehab programmes to help get you back to you again.
NB. Please consult a medical professional before starting any exercise as rehabilitation. If your medical professional has recommended yoga for rehab, ask why. This will help us build a personalised programme.

    Later life support

As we get older, we can start to feel the impacts of life. Yoga is a wonderful practice to take into later years. It can help to improve strength, flexibility, mobility, range of movement and balance. It’s also great for the mind, helping us to stay focused, calm and positive.
Practices focus on accessibility and support to allow you to enjoy yoga, and life, to it’s fullest.

    Deep rest

We live in a world where rest isn’t always prioritised. It’s always lets go, something to do, somewhere to be, work a bit more.
But as we work hard, we also need to rest hard.
Prioritise your rest with practices, courses and workshops that are all about taking it easy.
Practices include yin yoga, restorative, yoga nidra (yogic sleep), meditation, pranayama (breath work).

Martha supported side plank yoga pose photography at The Barbican

“I have wanted to learn yoga for several years, but lack of confidence and my own inhibitions have kept me from joining classes. I started one-to-one sessions with Martha about a year ago. Martha took time to get to know me, why I wanted to learn yoga and what I wanted to get out of it. Our sessions are focussed on those aims and I have leaned so much in the past 12 months. There is a lot more yoga to learn than you might think but Martha has been brilliant at focussing on some of the basic principles which underpin pretty much everything. I have been able to do things I never thought I would be able to, and our regular one to one sessions have ensured that I have continued to practice in my own time when day to day pressures could take over.”
